In cooperation with Thorsten Müller
Inspired by the question of how hospitals can optimize patient healing, we developed the concept of the "Genesungssystem." Our goal was to enhance patient mobilization within hospital environments through an inviting and functional design. Thus, the idea for the Recovery System was born: colorful exercise modules are installed along handrails, which are present in nearly all rooms and corridors of the hospital. These modules allow patients to perform various exercises either alone, with therapists, or with fellow patients. The exercises range from simple daily activities such as walking, standing up, or lifting objects, to stretching and strength training. In collaboration with physiotherapy professionals, four training modules were developed that can be attached to the handrails and combined using a perforated system and additional accessories. It was important to incorporate existing therapy tools like resistance bands and foam rollers to allow therapists to create personalized exercise plans. From these four basic modules—walking, sitting, stretching, and balance—individual training plans can be developed and implemented, tailored to specific musculoskeletal conditions.
