Project: Bachelorthesis
Humans, as beings originally designed for movement, have become more and more sedentary people. In addition to postural defects and a number of civilization diseases, rigid seating has an impact on concentration and thinking processes. Society is increasingly reacting with innovative and moving work concepts but just little progress is being made in the physical development phase. Derived from the school desk as a rigid posture and educational corset, the seating furniture of German schools to this day suggests a stiff posture and unnatural ways of learning. In elementary schools, Docker, as a three-dimensional static seating furniture, is intended to break up this rigid posture. Depending on the type of teaching, it allows a wide variety of body positions, from lying to standing. Due to its lightweight and stackability, it can be used and stowed flexibly in the room. Plug-in acoustic elements also offer the possibility of constantly redesigning rooms and teaching.
